In 2020, the Foundation established a vital new partnership with BASCO, an orphanage in Ghana that cares for children aged between 5 to 18. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the Foundation immediately collaborated with the orphanage’s leadership to identify and begin addressing their most pressing and essential needs over the period 2020 to 2023. The impact covers the following areas:
- funding daily feeding programs meeting the basic need for survival
- resolving arrears in teacher salaries to ensure immediate operational stability
- to support female health, we supplied sanitary products along with practical instruction on their usage, promoting better hygiene practices within the orphanage.
- investing in vocational empowerment, providing sewing machines and hairdressing equipment to train the children in practical, basic skills for future self-reliance
