Catherine Opoku-Diawuo is a seasoned Ghanaian professional with a remarkable 15-year career specializing in the demanding field of Events Management, positioning her as a leader capable of executing complex projects and delivering successful outcomes.

While her career focus is now events, her academic journey began with Business Administration at Accra Academy (1996) and a BSc in Administration (General Management Studies) from Central University College (2002). Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning, Catherine expanded her expertise by pursuing an MSc in Monitoring and Evaluation in Public Health from the University of Ghana, Legon (2025).

Although Events Management was not her initial career ambition, her consistent delivery and professionalism have shaped her into the industry expert she is today. 

Pearl Adwoa Opoku is a distinguished Ghanaian professional with over 10 years of experience dedicated to policy formulation and implementation within the Health Sector. Currently serving as a Country Coordinator for a multinational organization, Pearl excels at building strategic partnerships and raising both domestic and external resources to significantly improve health outcomes for Women, Children, and Adolescents in Ghana.

Her foundational journey began at Achimota School (2005), leading to a BSc in Psychology (2010) and a subsequent Master’s in Research and Public Policy (2018), both from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is currently furthering her expertise as a PhD candidate in Social Policy Studies at the same institution.

Her passion for helping people is the consistent thread throughout her career. Early on, Pearl leveraged her psychological training and exceptional organizational and people skills in Human Resources to focus on staff wellbeing. This ability to connect, support, and navigate complex organizational structures opened doors to work with high-ranking government officials, the private sector, and major development partners.

Further reinforcing her commitment to well-being, Pearl is also a Certified Lay Counsellor for Children and Adolescents, accredited by the Ghana Psychological Council. She credits her remarkable professional trajectory to a combination of intentional career choices and the pivotal role of influential individuals who believed in her potential.

Adwoa Afriyie Tella is an experienced Ghanaian medical professional with over eight years of practice in Ghana. A double alumna of KNUST, she holds a BSc in Biological Science, a Medical Degree (2017), and a Master of Public Health in Population and Reproductive Health (2023).

The influence of her late father inspired her entry into medicine, and Adwoa has found her true professional calling in Family Medicine. Choosing this speciality was a defining moment in her career, providing her with immense personal satisfaction and a platform to deliver holistic patient care.

An alumna of Wesley Girls’ High School, Adwoa combines high-level clinical expertise with a commitment to leadership and personal growth. She is dedicated to mentoring others and offers guidance in several key areas, including Resilience, Career Development and Leadership skills

Charles Martyn-Dickens is a dedicated Ghanaian Paediatrician and established public health researcher with over a decade of medical experience. His journey, from Achimota School ( 2005) to earning his BSc Human Biology (2009) and MBChB (2012) at KNUST, is defined by a deep-seated commitment to child health—a calling reinforced by a defining personal experience with family illness.

His research at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable children in low-resource settings. Key areas of focus include Paediatric Sepsis, Adolescent HIV and Global Health.

A beneficiary of scholarships during his education, Charles is committed to paying it forward and offers mentorship in Career Development and Leadership skills.

Godfred Ahia is a seasoned Ghanaian/ Canadian professional specializing in the oil and gas industry, where he has built a strong career over the past 12 years.

He holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2010), having previously majored in Physical Science at Mfantsipim School (2005).

While his initial plan was not to enter the oil & gas field, Godfred’s career trajectory was driven by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact in Ghana and improve the lives of those affected by the industry. This passion for contribution has fuelled his commitment to the sector, transitioning his Chemical Engineering background into a successful career.

A defining moment in Godfred’s life—the loss of close family members—shaped his character, instilling the resilience that has been crucial to both his personal and professional growth. He is passionate about sharing his expertise and guidance on career development within the oil and gas industry.

Lauretta A. Atobra is an accomplished Ghanaian Petroleum Engineer with 13 years of specialized experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Her career path, which perfectly aligns with her personal goals, has allowed her to focus on complex projects utilizing modern technological tools.

Lauretta is highly credentialed, holding a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology ( 2012), following her foundation in Science from St. Louis Senior High School (2007). She is also dual chartered with both the Energy Institute and the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), underscoring her technical expertise and professional commitment.

Her perspective on her career has been shaped by impactful life events, notably negotiating a year off during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience highlighted the transient nature of job security and reinforced the critical importance of building sturdy professional relationships.

As a firm believer in an equitable educational system, Lauretta has been the beneficiary of two scholarships, which significantly boosted her financial stability and confidence. She is committed to giving back by mentoring others and offering guidance in early to mid-career development/transitioning.

Paa Kwesi Baidoo is a highly accomplished Ghanaian engineer specializing in the dynamic Oil and Gas/Energy industry. His career is the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition to work in a field that is hands-on, dynamic, and full of complex challenges. His early interest in engineering was shaped by his strong performance in Mathematics and Physics in school, alongside the powerful mentorship of his father, who was also a mechanical engineer working in aeronautical engineering.

Paa Kwesi began his academic journey studying General Science at St. John’s School in Sekondi, graduating in 2003. He then earned his foundational BSc in Mechanical Engineering from KNUST in 2008 and further specialized by obtaining an MSc in Subsea Engineering and Management from Newcastle University, UK, in 2014, providing him with advanced qualifications perfectly tailored for his industry.

A pivotal moment in Paa Kwesi’s professional life was achieving a distinction during his Master’s degree in the UK. This academic recognition translated directly into increased professional confidence and opportunity. Upon his return to work, the distinction earned him immediate recognition from his managers and colleagues, leading to significant project exposure and a greater number of complex assignments, which accelerated his career trajectory in the industry.

Philip Kwaku Iwu is a Ghanaian legal professional who believes that the law should be a tool for empowerment and equity. As a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, Philip combines a deep understanding of corporate law with a heartfelt commitment to social justice. His academic journey is a testament to his dedication to lifelong learning; he first earned a degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast in 2000, later transitioning to law with an LLB from GIMPA in 2016 and a Professional Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law in 2018. Most recently, in 2024, he completed his Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law at the University of Ghana.

Philip’s path to the courtroom was sparked by a personal turning point. After seeing his mother navigate a difficult legal battle over his late father’s property without the means to afford a lawyer, he witnessed firsthand how the lack of representation can lead to injustice. This experience stayed with him, turning a childhood challenge into a lifelong mission: to ensure that the unrepresented are never left without a voice and that justice is accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial status.

For Philip, mentorship is about more than just professional advice—it is a vital lifeline for personal growth. He is passionate about supporting young people, particularly those who may not have professional role models within their own family circles. By sharing his own journey from economics to the heights of the Ghanaian legal system, Philip aims to help the next generation navigate their career choices with confidence and resilience. He is an active mentor who believes that with the right guidance, every child can overcome their circumstances to achieve their dreams.

Monica Opoku-Geren is a highly accomplished Finance Professional known for her global impact in strategic financial oversight and complex problem-solving, skills honed over a career resolving critical organizational challenges for some of the world’s largest corporations.

Her robust expertise is underpinned by a prestigious suite of certifications, including ACCA (2005), CPA (2011), and the CRMA (2016). Monica’s academic foundation began at Achimota School studying Agriculture (1995), followed by a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana (2000), where she was the recipient of two significant scholarship awards: the Shell Ghana Scholarship and the CUSAC Scholarship for study abroad at the University of Guelph, Canada (2000-2001), an experience that further fuelled her drive for academic excellence.

Monica credits her extraordinary career trajectory to wonderful mentors who empowered her to take risks and learn through practical experience. A defining moment came when a leader, impressed by her selflessness and strong work ethic, offered her a pivotal position in California, US. This move not only opened the door to international finance but also solidified her role as an essential strategic partner capable of delivering solutions on a global scale.
